Responsabilities

- Manage the judge's schedule, including setting and confirming appointments and court dates
- Prepare and organize case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are properly filed and accessible
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and reports
- Coordinate communications between the judge, attorneys, court personnel, and external parties
- Maintain accurate records of court proceedings, following protocols for confidentiality and data protection
- Assist in courtroom proceedings, including swearing in witnesses and handling exhibits
- Compile and maintain court calendars, tracking deadlines and case progress
- Conduct preliminary research on legal issues and case law as required by the judge
- Respond to inquiries from attorneys, litigants, and the public in a professional and timely manner
- Manage case assignments and monitor caseloads to ensure efficient workflow
- Arrange and oversee logistics for court hearings, including scheduling interpreters and court reporters
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and integrity
- Monitor and ensure compliance with court procedures, rules, and regulations
- Provide administrative support, including handling phone calls, emails, and correspondence
- Organize and maintain the judge’s chambers, ensuring a tidy and functional workspace
- Assist with the preparation of jury instructions and verdict forms
- Process and record financial transactions related to court fees, fines, and other payments
- Coordinate with law enforcement and correctional facilities for the transfer of detainees as required
- Prepare and manage travel arrangements and expense reports for the judge
- Assist with special projects and additional tasks as assigned by the judge or court administrator
