A Backend Developer plays a critical role in the development and maintenance of server-side web application logic, ensuring that the data and services requested by the front-end system or software are delivered effectively. They focus on database management, server scripting, and API integration, often working closely with front-end developers to ensure seamless functionality and performance of applications. Their responsibility extends to ensuring system scalability, security, and robustness through extensive testing and optimization, ultimately providing a reliable and efficient foundation that supports user-facing features and services.

Responsabilities

As a Backend Developer, your responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable code for the server-side applications. You will be entrusted with ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end, managing the interchange of data between the server and the users. Integral to this role, you will also collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, requiring a deep understanding of the entire web development process, from design to deployment and beyond. Additionally, you'll be in charge of diagnosing and debugging problematic aspects of the backend, ensuring system reliability and robustness, and implementing the necessary patches and updates to maintain security and performance standards.

Your role also extends to the implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests, guaranteeing that new applications are not only swiftly delivered but also adhere to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You're responsible for database management, which includes schema design, query optimization, and data migration. As data protection is paramount, you will be tasked with implementing data protection and security compliance throughout the entire project lifecycle. Additionally, you'll stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance the backend processes, thus supporting the continued growth and innovation within the company.

A strong candidate for the Backend Developer role typically holds a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Additionally, certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL Database Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, AWS Certified Developer – Associate, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) can significantly enhance a candidate's credibility.
