We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial statement preparation, budgeting, and financial reporting.

They will also be expected to maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls, and participate in educational opportunities to keep their accounting skills up-to-date.

To succeed as a staff accountant, it's crucial to maintain precise records in the general ledger and uphold compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). A standout staff accountant should also possess strong communication, organizational, and analytical abilities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Keeping financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts up to date.
  • Creating journal entries, conducting analyses, and reconciling accounts, while aiding in monthly closing procedures.
  • Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance forecasts.
  • Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury, including conducting internal audits.
  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
  • Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and participating in audit processes.
  • Ensuring adherence to GAAP standards.
  • Providing assistance to the accounting manager when necessary.

Staff Accountant Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in GAAP.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and time management capabilities.
