Description

An Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing an organization's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. This position entails managing the accounting team, supervising daily accounting functions, and coordinating the preparation of financial statements and reports. An Accounting Manager is also responsible for implementing and maintaining accounting systems and controls, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and analyzing financial data to provide strategic recommendations. Requirements

Responsabilities

- Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including bank and credit card reconciliations, coordination of annual audits, and financial report reviews
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and potential issues to be reported to the CFO
- Reconcile revenue and expenditure accounts for accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Review and manage end-to-end accounting processes, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and policies
- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including month and year-end processes
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, variance analysis, and capital asset reconciliations
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
- Assist in developing and implementing new procedures to enhance departmental workflow
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors as necessary
- Support compliance and financial reporting requirements
- Provide support and training for Financial Department staff on accounting procedures
- Collaborate with IT on implementing new technologies and software enhancements for accounting processes
- Prepare and review tax filings, liaising with external tax consultants for complex issues

Ideal Candidate

On a typical day, you will...

- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, coordination and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO’s attention
- Reconcile revenue and expenditure accounts, ensuring all financial data is accurate and in compliance with company policies and regulations
- Review and manage end-to-end accounting processes and ensure adherence to accounting principles and company policies
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue, and expenditure variance analysis, and capital assets reconciliations
- Prepare detailed reports on financial performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and assess any changes necessary
- Support and oversee compliance and financial reporting requirements
- Provide support to Financial Department staff and assist in training new and existing staff on all accounting processes and procedures
- Collaborate with IT on implementing new technologies and software enhancements that streamline accounting processes
- Prepare and review tax filings and liaise with external tax consultants for complex tax issues
