Description

The General Counsel serves as the chief legal advisor to an organization, providing strategic guidance on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. This role includes overseeing corporate governance, managing compliance programs, and mitigating legal risks to protect the company's interests. The General Counsel collaborates with senior management to align legal initiatives with business objectives, ensuring all operations adhere to applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, this role involves managing internal and external legal teams, handling litigations, drafting and negotiating contracts, and advising on mergers and acquisitions.

Requirements

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of a state bar association.
- Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with significant experience in a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Proven experience in handling complex legal matters and providing strategic legal advice at an executive level.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in managing litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and draft a wide variety of legal documents, including contracts and agreements.
- Experience overseeing mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
- Solid understanding of corporate governance principles and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and management skills with experience in supervising legal teams and external counsel.

Ideal Candidate
