Description

A Legal Clerk plays a crucial role in the smooth operation of legal practices by providing essential administrative support to lawyers and legal teams. They are responsible for organizing and maintaining legal documents, conducting research, and assisting with case preparation, ensuring that files are updated and easily accessible. Legal Clerks may also draft basic correspondence and legal forms, liaise with clients and court officials, and manage schedules and appointments. Requirements

- Review and summarize legal documents and case files.
- File documents with the court and manage electronic court filings.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and court personnel to schedule interviews, depositions, and court hearings.
- Maintain and organize case files, both physical and digital.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, evidence, and witness lists.
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure compliance with court scheduling orders.
- Summarize depositions and trial transcripts.
- Coordinate the collection and organization of discovery materials.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, handling correspondence, and managing calendars.
- Prepare and review legal billing and timekeeping records.
- Attend meetings with attorneys and clients to discuss case strategies and updates.
- Help draft and proofread correspondence, including legal memos and letters.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of closing documents for various transactions.
- Compile and analyze case-specific data and perform issue-based research.
- Liaise with other legal professionals and external parties, such as court clerks and vendors.
