Description

A Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the shipment of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. This role involves coordinating with carriers, freight forwarders, and warehouse staff to arrange pickup and delivery schedules. The Shipping Coordinator also prepares shipping documents, tracks shipments, and resolves any issues that may arise during transit. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are crucial, as the role requires maintaining records of shipments, managing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations and company policies. Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in a shipping coordinator, logistics, or supply chain role
- Strong knowledge of shipping regulations, import/export laws, and compliance standards
- Proficiency with shipping software and systems, such as WMS (Warehouse Management System) and TMS (Transportation Management System)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to negotiate shipping rates and terms with carriers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently
- Familiarity with inventory management and tracking

- Experience with reverse logistics processes is a plus
- Physical capability to handle packages and assist with packing and labeling as needed

- Coordinate and oversee daily shipping and logistics operations
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and invoices
- Manage tracking and timely delivery of outgoing shipments
- Communicate with carriers to arrange transportation and negotiate shipping rates
- Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and import/export laws
- Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory levels
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to pack and label items for shipment
- Schedule pick-ups and drop-offs with third-party logistics providers
- Analyze shipping processes and suggest efficiency improvements
- Address and resolve issues or discrepancies related to shipping activities
- Provide regular updates to management on shipment status and logistics operations
- Coordinate with customer service to respond to shipping inquiries and support customer satisfaction
- Monitor and manage return of goods and handle reverse logistics processes
- Utilize shipping software and systems to optimize and track logistics operations
- Perform routine maintenance and updates to shipping databases and systems
