Description

An Assistant Controller plays a pivotal role in the finance department, supporting the Controller in overseeing and managing the company's accounting operations. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and assisting in the development of internal controls to safeguard financial assets. The Assistant Controller also collaborates with other departments to streamline financial processes and provide insights for strategic decision-making. Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA certification preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience

Responsabilities

- Oversee and manage general accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Coordinate and manage the budget process, assisting departments with budget preparation and consolidation
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance
- Conduct monthly balance sheet, income statement, and budget variance analyses
- Maintain and manage fixed asset and associated depreciation schedules
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist in preparing year-end books for audit
- Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and procedures
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of the audit process
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Monitor and analyze department work to enhance procedures and resource use
- Manage and coordinate insurance and health policy renewals
- Oversee tax filings including property tax, sales tax, and other regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial data and generate reports for the leadership team
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and objectives
- Assist with forecasts and projections as needed
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Participate in the annual budgeting process

On a typical day, you will...

- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
