Description

A Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety policies and procedures within an organization to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. This role involves conducting risk assessments, setting safety standards, and ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant laws. The Safety Manager also leads training sessions, investigates accidents, and recommends corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field

Responsabilities

- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss occurrences
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses
- Lead safety training sessions and workshops
- Monitor workplace conditions for safety compliance
- Maintain and update safety documentation
- Collaborate with management to ensure availability of safety resources and equipment
- Act as the point of contact for external safety inspections or audits
- Communicate safety expectations and updates
- Manage and oversee emergency response plans
- Provide guidance on safety issues to supervisors and employees

Ideal Candidate

On a typical day, you will...

- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-miss occurrences to determine causes, and develop corrective actions
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify potential safety issues
- Lead safety training sessions and workshops for employees, contractors, and visitors
- Monitor workplace conditions and address any identified safety non-compliance issues
- Maintain and update safety documentation, including training records, accident reports, and inspection reports
- Collaborate with management to ensure adequate safety resources and equipment are available
- Act as the point of contact for external safety and health inspections or audits
- Communicate safety expectations and updates to all levels of the organization
- Manage and oversee emergency response plans, including coordinating drills and training sessions
- Provide guidance and support to supervisors and employees on safety issues
- Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements for employee workstations
- Maintain current knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, and update policies as needed
- Coordinate with Human Resources to address workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs
- Track and analyze safety performance metrics and report findings to senior management
